The Founder Talks

Samantha Wills started her self-titled accessories company at just 21 years old, and 15 years on has turned it into an iconic international jewellery brand with a cult following. It quickly became a celebrity favourite worn by the likes of Eva Mendes, Taylor Swift and was handpicked by stylist Patricia Field to appear on Sex and the City. Samantha has become one of Australia’s most successful business exports. She’s worked with and become the face of a number of premium brands, including Nespresso, Mount Franklin, Yellowglen and Holden because women connect with her and her willingness to get vulnerable by openly sharing her story. Perhaps what we love about her the most though, is the way she uses her platform to speak out against really important issues affecting women, and champion the message; ‘Young girls with dreams, become women with vision.’

Despite the brand’s continued success, last year Samantha made her biggest and bravest move, announcing the closure of Samantha Wills jewellery so that she can pursue other creative endeavours.

Join Business Chicks for The Founder Talks with Samantha Wills where she’ll go deep about her decision to close, what the start-up days were like, the personal hurdles she’s climbed and what she’s learnt about building a brand and picking yourself up after failure. She’ll also share what’s next for Samantha Wills (are you as excited as us to find out?)

Hailing from the small town of Port Macquarie and now splitting her time between Sydney & New York, it’s not often you get the chance to have an intimate conversation with this down-to-earth, switched-on business star. Join us to enjoy canapés, a glass of bubbles and spend an evening with Samantha Wills.

Event description

Westfield Miranda, in partnership with Australia’s largest women’s network Business Chicks, are inviting you to hear the inspiring story of Samantha Wills, who founded her own jewellery and accessories company at age 21.

Book now to enjoy a canape lunch and hear the success story of Australia’s own, Samantha Wills, plus there will be the opportunity to network with other like-minded women.

Date: Friday 25 May
Time: 12pm
Location: The Italian Kitchen, Westfield Miranda
Cost: $30. Price includes a canape lunch and a goodie bag

Samantha grew up in the small, coastal town of Port Macquarie where she dreamed of one day having her own successful jewellery line.  From the stalls of Bondi's markets to featuring in Sex and The City, Samantha’s designs catapulted her onto the international stage.  Years of hard work has seen the brand grow a cult following, but Samantha remains natural and grounded, appreciative of her success and reminded of the difficult years and sleepless nights as a young woman with a start-up business and pipe dream.  Her struggles and experiences inspired her to create the Samantha Wills Foundation, a network of support and advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.

If you dream of starting your own business, are in need of a dose of inspiration, or just love to be around boss women, then this is the event for you!
